Recipe: Bliss Balls
We simply love bliss balls! They are an amazing healthy treat, easy to make, and even easier to bring along with you to keep hangriness at bay. Perfect for Spring adventures! Here is a home-friendly version of our much-loved Bliss Balls with a little extra protein in the mix for all our hungry vegan friends:
What you need for the bliss balls:
• 2x cup of plain almonds
• 1 1/2 cup Medjool dates
• 1/2 tsp salt
• 5 tbsp natural peanut butter
• Vanilla extract
• 6 tbsp organic cocoa powder
• pinch of cinnamon
• Shredded coconut
*please have extras on hand, you might need a bit extra to get the right consistency or flavour for you.
How to make the bliss balls
Put all the ingredients, besides the coconut, in a food processor. Let it run until the mix is a smooth putty-like substance (think smooth and moldable like kiddy clay or playdough). You might need to break the mix up a bit in between or add some extra dates or cocoa to get it to be the right consistency, but mostly just give it a little time to run smooth.
Remove the mix and roll it into nice bite-size balls. Then, roll the balls around in the shredded coconut until covered and pop them in a mason jar. You can enjoy these for many weeks to come if you keep them in a cool and dry place.
